This course provides an introduction to blood borne pathogens, their modes of transmission and control measures. It covers topics such as OSHA regulations, wound management, sterilization and disinfection, safety protocols, and personal protective equipment use. Participants will learn how to identify and respond to potential exposures to blood borne pathogens in their workplace and community. 

There will also be emphasis on the importance of a comprehensive infection control program, which includes proper training of healthcare workers, proper disposal of waste, and diligent enforcement of safety protocols. This course satisfies OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 training requirements.
