The certification must be refreshed every 3 years or when regulations change substantially. Failure to comply with the certification can result in civil penalties of $78,376 for each violation.

Who is the target audience?
The target audience for DOT HAZMAT training includes employees who work with or transport hazardous materials, such as hazardous waste, substances, or radioactive materials. This includes shippers, carriers and freight forwarders (hazmat employees, supervisors/managers, etc) who handle, ship or transport hazardous materials by ground to, from or within the US. This may include but is not limited to: Warehouse staff that are packaging hazardous materials Office staff that are shipping packages to facilities.
